This article called The NeoCube Split shows models and techniques. It features a tutorial on splitting the cube, so, if you are out of inspiration or have Just bought your Neocube, or Nanodots, or Buckyballs or Zen Magnets, or Eurocube or TetraMag set and are bored with just clicking them then you need this video!

Drop in and see what you can do. You may even have a special video you'd like to submit. See how here.

This is a non commercial End User video

As the video author says on Youtube:

Many folks have expressed the fact that they cannot 'split' the neocube like in the original video. I decided to video and show the split since it seems to be the most difficult part. I have also recreated the entire original Neocube video and can post it if enough people request it. Enjoy! :)

Useful Hints

There is more than one way to get a cube

It's important to remember that there are many ways to arrive at the cubic shape. They are all 6x6x6 and look the same, but the orientation of magnet poles of the balls is not the same.

If you build the cube without a plan, you are likely to end up with a very unstable cube. For example by pressing into one side to attempt the split, you will squash the entire thing. Only with a stable cube that behaves like a solid entity can you do the split properly.

The only way that has reliably worked for me so far is the simple folding up from a line as described here: How to make a cube
